You fought the Zetas for me. I'm going to fight for you - even if the one I have to fight is YOU. Hands down my favorite book and couple in the series Marc and Sophie you come in a close second , and easily one of my favorite reads of the year so far. This is definitely a series that has NOT lost its momentum, but only gets better with each book. I've loved watching this I-Team family come together and grow book after book.

Pamela Clare has quickly become my go-to for when I'm craving a little heart racing action Oct 10, Buggy rated it it was amazing Shelves: Opening Line: Yeah Pamela Clare has outdone Opening Line: Yeah Pamela Clare has outdone herself with this 5th instalment from the I-team series; I could not put Breaking Point down, what a freakin ride. More than once I caught myself thinking how the hell are they going to get out of this?

Everything about this was just perfect, starting with the cover hello the studtastic and literally tortured hero, the sigh-worthy romance, the sexy, sexy love scenes, the inclusion of Marc and Julian and their ongoing bromance and a heroine that I could believe in.

Easily one of my top reads this year. Believing herself to be caught up in a gang war Natalie is moved to an abandoned church where she finds herself chained to the wall of a cell awaiting her fate.

Will they seek a ransom or just rape her? Within hours she hears the sounds of a man being tortured, by all accounts an American man. Due to the extent of his injuries Natalie is actually responsible for their hard earned freedom and now the pair finds themselves on the run, escaping across the desert and towards the US border.

Past heroes and heroines make a welcome return to this story which despite the gripping level of suspense always maintains a realistic edge along with a pulse pounding, melt your heart romance. This is one for the keeper shelf.

What a thrill ride Breaking Point was for me, not a boring moment to be had. This book just like all the rest in the series had, great story, danger, action, suspense all rolled in with emotional moments. I shed a few tears here and there while reading. There was quite a bit of violence but that just made the story grab me even more.

With every book I read in this series I fall for each hero. They are all so fantastic that I could not chose a favorite. Zach was every bit as protective, smart, tender, caring and sensual as all the other's, Oh and lets not forget the HOT cover, that alone has most of us swooning over him. Natalie was a great heroine, she was smart, brave, heroic and tough. I just love these characters Pamela invents to share with us. As always' the book had a wonderful HEA ending I heard that this is the last book in this series.

I hope NOT because I want to continue reading about these characters in as many book's as Pamela can write for us. I guess I'll just have to wait and see where Pamela decides to take us with her next romantic suspense.

Which ever way she goes, I'm buying. View all 11 comments. Sep 16, MelissaB rated it it was amazing Recommends it for: Fans of exciting Romantic suspense. Breaking Point was an exciting story with a good romance.

Natalie Benoit is a reporter on the same I-team Investigative reporting team as the previous heroines in this series. She travels to Ciudad Juarez, Mexico for a journalist convention, where she is kidnapped from a bus full of reporters, some of whom are killed in front of her. She is taken to a compound where she is locked in a cell next to the man who will change her life — Zach McBride, an undercover U.

Zach was betrayed b Breaking Point was an exciting story with a good romance. Zach was betrayed by one of his contacts to the Zetas, a violent Mexican drug cartel. They think he stole a shipment of cocaine so they are torturing him to try to get him to tell the location. When he hears Natalie in the cell next door to him, he knows they need to escape soon or they will both be dead. During this harrowing trek, they get to know each other a little better. Natalie is able to share her experiences from living in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina.

She spent the following six years frozen emotionally but finally is ready to live again after meeting Zach and facing death head on. Zack and Natalie have an instant bond even during these intense conditions, the passion and chemistry flares hot between them.

They make it to safety with the help of other U. Marshals and Marc and Gabriel, but then they have to deal with the aftermath.

Zack does not feel like he can give Natalie what she deserves, which is a normal man who will give her the white picket fence and kids. Can she convince him to face his demons and give them a chance despite his job dangers?

And will they be able to unravel the mysteries behind her kidnapping in time to keep Natalie safe? Breaking Point was such an exciting thrill ride! I found the setting and storyline very interesting because there really is a battle going on at the Mexican-U. Marshals work! The danger Natalie and Zach were in seemed so real, I was biting my nails! Zack was a great hero, he was a tough former Navy SEAL who was able to withstand torture but keep it together enough to help Natalie and him escape when she works hard to create a diversion yeah for heroines who help save themselves!

Natalie was a brave heroine who never gave up even when things seemed pretty grim. She kept her head and helped them escape. She also showed her intelligence by letting Zack lead their escape using his survival and military expertise, not being TSTL like so many heroines who try to act like Rambo and almost die.

I highly recommend Breaking Point if you enjoy action-filled romantic suspense with great characters. Once again Pamela Clare has created a story with an honorable but tough alpha hero and an intelligent and nice heroine. I love how she manages to make the story realistic but still really romantic.

The ending made me cry again, more because it was touching and sweet and not the heart breaking sobs I had at the end of Naked Edge. View all 17 comments. May 19, Julie James rated it it was amazing. Yep, I ditched my book club book mid-way to start this one Edited to add: The same thing happened when I was reading Naked Edge--at a certain point in the story, it became impossible to put the book down.

Loved the camaraderie between the heroes from prior I-Team books. I'm particularly intrigued by this Marc Hunter character Too bad my book club meets tomorrow and I'm still only halfway through our book. I blame Pamela Clare. View all 16 comments.

Jun 14, Jeanne rated it really liked it Recommended to Jeanne by: Lady Vigilante Feifei. I can see why so many friends love this series, this was really good! I'm looking forward to reading the rest of them, especially Julian In case anyone is interested in my adventures in audiobooks, this was a good one. It was narrated by Kaleo Griffith, and he did a great job. I really like his voice, and it's good to know he voiced the whole series. The only complaint I have is that it was a little corny when he tried to put on Natalie's New Orleans accent.

It's bad en I can see why so many friends love this series, this was really good! It's bad enough when a male narrator tries to sound like a girl, but the accent on top of that, he didn't really pull off. Maybe that's just me. Thanks for the rec, Feifei! I think I'm going to have fun with this series: View all 15 comments. Nov 27, KatLynne rated it it was amazing Recommends it for: Everyone who loves a powerful romance.

This was such an amazing book that it is way above a 5 star rating! But the earth received your tears, your blood, your bones and, like a bereaved mother, the earth itself cries out for justice.

Ma WOW!! I know I am repeating myself when I say Pamela Clare has an amazing talent. I feel the same about her Historicals! Each book is well researched and the issues that are presented make me more aware of what is going on in the world and I find myself wanting to do something to contribute to its end and enlighten those around me of these atrocities.

How very rare to open a book and become captive, enthralled from the very first pages…to become so involved that it is as if you are there, in the midst of the action, no longer a bystander reading words from a page but living the words.

Each book is filled with the perfect balance of action and suspense along with hot, sensual romance! They are Powerful, Sensual, and Emotionally Intense! They are the kind of books I love the most, one that I want to devour as fast as I can, while the other part of me is loving it so much I want to make myself slow down and savor it for as long as possible.

That is why I love this author. For she brings to the reader these things mentioned and so much more! And all the above is what you will find in this 5th installment. I was so excited when the cover was revealed. Marshall…hot, sexy alpha male!

And he does not disappoint. He is ruthless and when threatened by danger, I would definitely want him on my side! I loved his humor, his protectiveness, his honesty and that sweet tenderness. I love how he immediately takes charge of any given situation and the intense concentration to detail that he applies to each task at hand, whether it is saving lives, remembering southern sweet tea, or his sensual, sexual loving of our heroine, Natalie Benoit.

I fell in love with him from the very beginning and as the story progressed, my love for this hero-to-die-for only grew. And the heroine is one that you will also love and admire. This story opens with action as Natalie is brutally captured and held prisoner by the cruelest of the drug cartel. I found her sharp intelligence refreshing. She is brave, compassionate and also fierce in her protectiveness.

And like Zach, she too is a tortured soul, carrying deep wounds from a painful past. And as these two broken souls unite to escape the brutality of their captors and in their struggles to stay alive they are drawn to each other and the pages ignite with their sensual desires. There is so much more to this story than just their captivity and escape.

That is only the beginning of the trials, the heartache, and the triumphs each of them will face. And the wonderful talent of this author is that while filling this story to the brim with action and suspense and all the new challenges and obstacles they must overcome, it is also a story of courage and healing while intertwining perfectly a thrilling, sensual and poignant love story.

And woven into this riveting tale we once again meet up with past characters from the I-Team Series while meeting new ones along the way. And I really liked the way Ms. Clare incorporated them all and even included some in major roles while keeping our main focus on the hero and heroine. And in the midst of this nightmare Zach and Natalie both find their hero and the remarkable ability to hope again!

A truly well written book, filled with complex characters, action and suspense along with a remarkable love story that will keep you captivated and anxiously turning the pages. A Riveting — powerful — emotionally intense - action packed — suspenseful — poignant — enlightening - sensual — sexy story that held me captive from beginning to end! I loved everything about it! Thank you Pamela Clare! Below are just a few of my favorites. You fought for me. He held her tighter, the feel of her precious.

You are literally hurled into the story! I highly recommend that you do not listen to this in public Have a misting fan handy, a cool drink and be prepared for the ride of your life.

I knew who each character was without being told! Original review posted May What to say?! The excitement leading up to this book overwhelmed me, but nothing prepared me for what Pamela Clare delivered. It was that GOOD! Oh the men, and now we have another scrumptious specimen, Zach.

This was romantic suspense at its best. Zach, a hero you want to call your own. He is haunted by his past and suffers from PTSD. A tragic issue that the author brings to our attention.

Unfortunately, many of our wartime heroes and their families deal with this every day. Natalie is a resilient heroine, up against tremendous odds, yet willing to do what needs to be done. The author's writing shines in these scenes.

Some very funny stuff. Loved it. It made the book very personal, because they are so relatable. The story line evolved around the drug cartels and their ruthless murderous ways.

We were introduced to a real life crime fighting organization, Shadow Wolves, who along with the Border Patrol, fight at the frontline tracking down the drug smugglers. I checked out some articles on them…very interesting. Not only do we get a suspenseful novel, we always learn something too. Hmmmm…series in the making Ms. Clare…I think you might be on to something.

Clear your schedule before you begin to read, because you will lose all concept of time getting lost in this wonderful world of heroes and heroines that Pamela Clare has created. Even then it will take time for you to catch your breath. View all 20 comments.

Jan 22, Sharon rated it liked it Shelves: This book starts out with murder, kidnap, and possible rape and death. It's emotional and far too real — and pretty much scary AF. You may be looking at the cover and thinking shirtless guys, sex, etc. Details about "possible rape and death" on the spoilers section at the bottom of the review.

Plot Natalie is a journalist who has been kidnapped in another country. She fortunately meets another captured person, Zach, and toge This book starts out with murder, kidnap, and possible rape and death.

She fortunately meets another captured person, Zach, and together, they find a way to escape the antagonists and find their way back home. She listens to what she has to do — she even shoots a guy. I love seeing Natalie and Zach helping each other out, getting to know each other, and of course, falling in love.

By the end of this book, I shed a few tears the good kind because it has been such an emotional journey for both of them. Their connection truly is meaningful. I also appreciate the friendship aspect in this book.

There are some cute bantering and a lot of good support. Characters — Natalie: I like him. He is a rather complex character. He suffers from PTSD and some serious survival-guilt on a past situation.

Final Thoughts This might have been the scariest, most suspenseful book yet of the I-Team series. And I love the epilogue. Angst level? Some really raw emotions in this book. Did the protagonist actually get raped?

The guys who captured her were very crude to her though and threatened her with it. One of the guys groped her breasts and some of them saw her naked. Explicit details on sex. Mentions of drug, murder, rape, prostitutes sexual assault, crude language, PTSD, etc. Fingers crossed on this one too. View 2 comments. Romantic Suspense fans, or pretty much everyone I know! View my fantasy cast on Under the Covers Oh my stars!!! There is no denying it now. And when I say this, I am admitting to thinking of nothing else other than the I-Team series for almost 10 days straight.

Pamela and her I-Team series shot straight to the top of my all-time favourites list, standing proudly next to my Ward, Cole, Singh and Kleypas keeper shelves! With a short list of books she has released, Clare has become my newest auto-buy View my fantasy cast on Under the Covers Oh my stars!!!

Now onto my thoughts about Breaking Point. Zach has been set up and taken prisoner by the Zetas, a bloodthirsty Mexican drug cartel who enjoy torturing their prisoners and brutalizing women. Meanwhile, they deny their attraction for one another until they realize they are not only running away from their killers, but also from their feelings.

I liked what Clare did differently in this book. Instead of keeping the identity of the bad guy a secret throughout the book, from the very beginning we know that Zach is on the good side while Arturo and his Zetas men are the bad guys.

I think this worked in developing a sense of urgency in Zach and his action plan while making us hate Arturo and his men on a higher level than in the previous books.

Instead of being kept in the dark, we read about the ruthless and brutalizing ways of the Zetas and come to hate them on our own terms. Clare lays out the facts, and we draw our own reactions. Zach is plagued by guilt and his memories in Afghanistan still haunt him. I loved reading about the trials that the both of them had to endure to get to their happily-ever-after. This was definitely an emotional book, where Clare features two tortured souls who find happiness in one another. Breaking Point was a nail-biter for me.

If you took a chunk out of the middle of this book and read from there, it would be a 5 star book. I was baffled to think back on how much happens in this little book.

Bottom line? I-Team will own you. Favourite Quote: I just want them close by.

Nov 07, Ren Puspita rated it it was amazing Recommends it for: I-Team Hardcore fans! And Everyone! First, I want to say thank you to Pamela Clare for her kindness.

I can't say much, just.. Again, Pamela Clare never disappoint me. Breaking Point, while it's not my favorite Unlawful Contact still the best ; , but I really love this book.

A hero to die for, but even Zach is Deputy U. Marshall, the top alpha and it makes Marc, Julian and Gabe, hero from the previous books, pissed off! A heroine that make me proud of her, Natalie might be look weak, but I adore her strength. This book is full action! From the start until the end. There's so much surprising moment happen.

And yeah, I love their review, really!!! This year, I'm glad I can find a new addictive series like I-Team. A series that make me want to read again and again. A series that make me captivated, laughing, crying, thinking. Thinking, while I sit here, write a review, laughing at my friend's joke, arguing with my parent, there are lot of despair in other country, so much injustice, a bad side in this world. I can't do anything for that, just stunned here, almost crying. I know this book just a fiction, but Pamela's writing so realistic , it make me can feel what happen to the story and the character.

Some of my favorite quote and scene: He held up the AK, the muscles in his arm bunching against the weight. He tilted his head back and let loose his best coyote howl. Chuckling, he glanced down again, his ending laughing abruptly when he saw the expression on her face. You set me free Natalie. The lighting had been perfect, catching the texture of their skin, the subtlest details of their face, exposing their emotion.

Julian lay, bloodied and shirtless, againts Marc' s chest, his eyed closed, pain etched on every feature of his face. I love this scene, it show the friendship and bromance between Julian and Marc hide spoiler ] Now, I must find another new series that make me intrigued and can't stop reading, or, I will re-read all book at this series again: D NOTE: Dear Zach, I know you sexy as hell. I know you so alpha. I know you so tortured, physically and mentally. BUT, you never beat Marc Hunter.

For me, he is my hero.
