David and I have different opinions and approaches to learning music, but this is good because different people have different ways as well as timing of learning. Is what Mr. Reed is offering what I'm looking for at this time? Maybe not, but unless I know more I won't be so quick to judge it may not be useful to someone else. I will say I do find his stick figure illustrations rather endearing.

Improvise For Real I see allot of people hawking their wares on THIS website, all types of stuff, always with some type of hint or down right brag that it's the next best thing to come along since sliced bread I'm seldom impressed or interested. Improvise For Real Learning to "improvise effortlessly" is a piece of cake.

Making it sound good is a different story. I signed up and Im a "pro" with a music degree The more you learn about improvising, the more you realize how much more you need to learn.

This never stops. Im sure at 50 it will be even lower. But its 20 bucks, not that much to satisfy your curiosity. And maybe you'll get lucky and get something out of it.

Improvise For Real Seems to me that this is an honest attempt to bring amateurs into improvising without too much aggravation in the process. I would be interested in what fundamental approach he is taking regarding how to approach playing by ear without unintentionally sounding like John Zorn. A seemingly little known technique - you can play a lot, and I mean a lot, of classic standards staying in the tonic key. It might not be real pretty and you may have to remember where in the tune you have to make some concessions, note-wise, but nevertheless, you can play a lot with just the tonic.
