STCW95/ 2010 Training

The code was introduced to set minimum international training standards for professional mariners. It is a statutory requirement to have completed the this training so you are aware of safety procedures that will keep yourself, your crew members and passengers safe. This depends on what direction you want to take your yachting career. With the Basic Safety Training certification under your belt you will have the options to work on super yachts, wind farms, private yacht charter, flotilla and deliveries all over 24m.

Although it is a safety requirement to hold the certification to work at sea, it is not a qualification that alone will get you a job in the maritime industry. Having a certificate alongside your current qualifications will show potential employers that you are not only a highly qualified candidate but someone who is serious about a career in the industry. The short answer is no. You will be wearing a commercial immersion suit throughout which is designed to keep you warm and dry.

For whatever reason should you get wet and cold during the Personal Survival Techniques course we will get you out of the water, warm you up and get you back in when your ready. Any persons wishing to work at sea are required to complete all 4 basic modules and one of the mandatory security training courses depending on your role.

However there are exceptions whereby some companies stipulate you only require the Personal Survival Techniques Sea Survival module if you are simply transferring to complete contract work on a wind farm or inland structure.
