Just like the lonely princess in the fairy tale who was reluctant to lock lips with a warty frog and transform him into a handsome prince, something stops many of us short of attaining our dreams.

By presenting their ideas and methods as facts instead of as useful tools, they open themselves up to legitimate criticism that their book is overly idealized and even foolishly impractical. While this can certainly be said of many self-help books, it is particularly relevant to Kiss That Frog!

Yes, such an event can in theory lead to a more rewarding life through countless possible channels. Perhaps this is too cynical of a reading, but much of what the Tracys have to offer does not seem revolutionary. Halfheartedly going through the motions will not produce tangible benefits. Some may find it too short and not detailed enough. Some may find the style too all-encompassing and not specific enough to their particular situation. Others, though, may find it just what they need.

Like any self-help book, it certainly has pitfalls. But the writing is confident and engaging, and the content is solid.

Though I have read many other self help books as well and this did not have to offer anything extraordinary that others didn't say, reading it reinforced the positivity that our mind needs to keep on growing and reaping goodness around.

It's like Brian Trafy said, our minds are like open grounds, if you don't deliberately plant a flower, weeds will grow automatically. If you don't deliberately feed good things in your mind, it will wander off aimlessly. Loved the short, s It was an amazing book. Loved the short, simple and full of wisdom book that was this.

All the points explored here are what we already subconsciously know but do not pay much heed to. Did you know that at a time our mind can process only one thought? Coz I didn't. So, the simple idea is whenever there is a negative thought trying to occupy your mind just replace it with a happy thought or a happy memory and feed this line of thought.

I learned quite a bit about loving myself, but mostly about how to forgive those who have done me wrong and move on in order to be a happier, less stressed out and angry person.

There were very good tips to use every day and I really will try my best to put these into use, especially the ones about finding those people and situations in my life that are causing me problems with their negativity and moving away from all that. Aug 28, Eric rated it liked it. I had an hour to kill at a Barnes and Noble while my wife and son were shopping.

I found this on a remainder table. Having already read Eat That Frog earlier this year I,picked it along with a few other titles to browse while waiting. Like the first book it had some good suggestions. The earlier book was more practical for me. But this one was well-timed in terms of a pep talk that was useful as summer is ending and my next chapter waiting to be written. Brian Tracy delivers again.

Not as good as my favorite by him, No Excuses!: The Power of Self-Discipline , which is more well-structured and practical, but the message is the same: Practice it - it works, and it will make you feel better as well. This audiobook sounds like it was recorded inside an aluminum can though.

Brian Tracy es uno de los autores incluidos en 'Aprendiendo de los mejores' Alienta Editorial. Jul 26, Amirtha Shri rated it liked it. I found this book very useful. Although the book iterates only one point - which is turning negative emotions to positive emotions - I liked how it made my re-think experiences.

Situations just happen and it makes you feel bad because you think that way, you tend to associate an emotion to it.

I guess the answer lies in convincing yourself that it was not as bad, or probably even good. Aug 15, Sharon Lensky rated it it was ok. The starting point in unlocking your full potential is to realize that you already are a prince or princess, deep down inside. No matter where you are today, or what you have done or not done in the past, you need to accept seven essential truths about you as a person:.

You are a thoroughly good and excellent person ; valuable and worthwhile beyond measure. No one is better than you or more gifted than you. Only when you doubt your essential goodness and value do you begin to question yourself.

The inability to accept that you are a good person lies at the root of much of your discontent. You are important , in many, many ways. To start with, you are important to yourself. Your personal universe revolves around you as an individual. You give meaning to everything that you see or hear.

Nothing in your world has any significance except for the significance that you attribute to it. You are also important to your parents. Your birth was a significant moment in their lives, and as you grew up, almost everything you did was meaningful to them. You are important to your own family, to your partner or spouse, your children, and the other members of your social circle.

Some of the things you do or say have an enormous impact on them. You are important to your company, your customers, your coworkers, and your community. How important you feel largely determines the quality of your life. Happy, successful people feel important and valuable.

No matter what you have accomplished up to now, it is merely a hint of what is truly possible for you. And the more of your natural talents and abilities you develop in the present, the more of your potential you can develop in the future. Your belief in your almost unlimited potential is the key to becoming everything you are truly capable of becoming. You create your world in every respect by the way you think and the depth of your convictions. Your beliefs actually create your realities, and every belief you have about yourself you learned , starting in infancy.

The amazing thing is that most of the negative or self-limiting beliefs and doubts that interfere with your happiness and success are not based on fact or reality at all.

When you begin to question your self-limiting beliefs and develop beliefs consistent with the incredible person you really are, your life will begin to change almost immediately. You are always free to choose the content of your thoughts and the direction of your life. The one thing over which you have complete control is your inner life and your thinking.

You can decide to think happy, fulfilling, uplifting thoughts that lead to positive actions and results. Or you can, by default, end up choosing negative, self-limiting thoughts that trip you up and hold you back. Your mind is like a garden:
